By accessing or using Accessibility Checker ("the Service"), operated at accessibilitychecker.dev, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Accessibility Checker is a free, web-based tool that scans URLs for accessibility issues against WCAG 2.2 standards using automated testing powered by axe-core. The Service provides automated reports including accessibility scores, categorized issues, and fix recommendations. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended as a starting point for accessibility testing, not a substitute for comprehensive manual auditing.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Submit URLs that you do not have authorization to scan
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or overload the Service
- Use the Service to identify vulnerabilities for malicious purposes
- Resell, redistribute, or white-label scan results without attribution
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond the provided API
The Service enforces a rate limit of 10 scans per minute per IP address. Exceeding this limit may result in temporary or permanent access restriction.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Accessibility Checker. Scan results generated for your URLs are yours to use freely. The underlying scanning engine (axe-core) is open-source software licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 by Deque Systems.
6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Automated accessibility testing detects approximately 30–40% of potential issues. The Service does not guarantee full WCAG compliance. You are solely responsible for ensuring the accessibility of your websites and applications.
IN NO EVENT SHALL ACCESSIBILITY CHECKER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
7. Third-Party Links and Content
The Service scans third-party websites at your request. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party website. Scan results reflect the state of the target URL at the time of scanning and may change at any time.
